Christina Aguilera biography

Born Christina Maria Aguilera on December 18, 1980, in Staten Island, New York.

The daughter of a military father and a musician mother, Aguilera appeared on Star Search at age 9 and was a cast member of the Mickey Mouse Club for two years before recording the hit duet "All I Wanna Do" in Japan with local pop star Keizo Nakanishi.

In 1998, the pop artist began her rapid ascent to stardom when she recorded "Reflection" for the soundtrack of Disney's Mulan. Her self-titled debut album followed shortly thereafter, with the single "Genie In A Bottle" becoming the biggest selling U.S. single of the year.

After winning a Grammy in 1999 for Best New Artist, Aguilera topped the charts again in January 2000 with "What A Girl Wants" and "Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You).” The savvy release of a Spanish collection of hits titled Mi Reflejo and a cover version of LaBelle's "Lady Marmalade" for the Moulin Rouge soundtrack kept the star in the limelight.

In 2002, Aguilera unveiled a controversial sexually charged image for her second studio album, Stripped. The album's first single, "Dirrty," drew similar controversy for its decidedly steamy music video.

In 2006, Aguilera appeared somewhat more subdued when she released her third studio album Back to Basics. She considered it to be a modern spin on the jazz, blues, and soul music from 1920s to the 1940s. Though one track, "Still Dirrty," indicated that she was not completely shedding her sexy image.

In late 2007, rumors started to swirl around Aguilera about a possible pregnancy. Paris Hilton leaked the news at a September party in Las Vegas, saying “congratulations to the most beautiful pregnant woman in the world” to Aguilera, according to a report in People magazine. Despite this public declaration, Aguilera remained mum on the subject of whether or not she was pregnant.

Aguilera finally confirmed the rumors in early November that she and her husband of two years, music executive Jordan Bratman, were expecting their first child. The singer told Glamour's U.K. edition that her plans for New Year's Eve involve a new baby.

"That'll be about the time I enter into mommy hood so I'm hoping to have started a beautiful family with my husband!" Aguilera is quoted in a story posted on the magazine's Web site. Later that month, a very pregnant Aguilera modeled her baby bump on the cover of Marie Claire magazine.

The couple welcomed Max Liron Bratman on January 12, 2008. On the day of his birth, Aguilera posted a message on her website to her fans. Here is a part of that message, expressing their delight over their new addition: “Today is a very joyful and special day for Jordan and I as we welcome our first son into this world.”

The next month Aguilera made her first public appearance since Max’s arrival. To promote her new DVD Back to Basics: Live and Down Under (2008), she signed autographs at an electronics store in West Hollywood, California

ELISHA CUTHBERT BIOGRAPHY

SA former child star whose flame continued to burn bright into her teen years, blonde beauty Elisha Cuthbert has successfully carried the success from Popular Mechanics for Kids and Are You Afraid of the Dark? into a featured role on the hit FOX series 24 and a successful film career.

A Calgary native who landed her first modeling job at the tender age of seven, it was a mere four years later that Cuthbert instinctively knew that she wanted to spend the rest of her days in front of the lens.

Following an appearance in the 1997 feature Dancing on the Moon, Cuthbert landed a job as a field correspondent for the acclaimed Canadian television series Popular Mechanics for Kids, and her reporting proved so effective that she caught the attention of first lady Hillary Clinton, who invited Cuthbert to Washington for a meeting.

Though she spent the majority of her youth in Montreal, Cuthbert moved to Los Angeles at age 17 in order to pursue an acting career.

Featured roles as a reluctant pilot in Airspeed (1998) and a time traveling teen in Time at the Top (1999) were soon to follow, and by the time Cuthbert joined the cast of Nickelodeon's Are You Afraid of the Dark? in 1999, it was obvious that her talent was growing.

Her role in the made-for-Canadian-television feature Lucky Girl only furthered her reputation as a dramatically capable rising starlet, and her distinct onscreen facial expressions and convincing performance soon caught the eyes of producers who were preparing a new thriller series for FOX.

Cast as Jack Bauer's (Kiefer Sutherland) damsel-in-distress daughter, Kimberly, in the breakout hit 24, Cuthbert's character suffered through multiple kidnappings and a mountain lion attack over the course of the series' first two seasons. In the episode of 24 in which she shared a scene with the mountain lion, Cuthbert made news when the beast actually attacked her on the film set, sending the frightened actress on a trip to the hospital with an injured hand.

On the heels of 24, Cuthbert took a supporting role in the comedy Old School before appearing in the subsequent romantic comedies Love Actually (2003) and The Girl Next Door (2004), the latter of which found her taking the lead as an ex-porn star who becomes the object of affection to a lonely suburban boy unaware of her past.

Britney Spears

One of the last teenage superstars of the millennium, Britney Spears enjoyed her breakthrough success at the end of 1998.

Britney Spears appeared in local dance revues and church choirs as a young girl, and at the age of eight auditioned for The Mickey Mouse Club.

Although Britney Spears was too young to join the series, a producer on the show gave her an introduction to a New York agent.

Britney Spears subsequently spent three summers at the Professional Performing Arts School Center.

She appeared in a number of off-Broadway productions as a child actor, including Ruthless (1991). She returned to the Walt Disney Channel for a spot on The Mickey Mouse Club, where she was featured for two years between the ages of 11 and 13.

Britney Spears began to audition for pop bands in the New York area, her demo tapes eventually landing on the desk of Jive Records' Jeff Fenster. ''Her vocal ability and commercial appeal caught me right away,'' he recalls.

She was expensively groomed by Jive, who put her in the studio with Eric Foster White (producer and writer for Boyzone, Whitney Houston and others).

They employed top R&B writer Max Martin (of Backstreet Boys fame) to produce her debut single, ''... Baby, One More Time'', and an album of the same title.

They also set up a promotional free phone number where fans could listen to Spears' music and interviews throughout the summer of 1998.

Britney Spears toured American venues for a series of concerts sponsored by US teen magazines, eventually joining 'N Sync on tour. The careful planning paid off when her debut album and single went on to top the American charts at the start of 1999.

The album and single enjoyed similar success in the UK and Europe. The ballad ''Sometimes'' and the funky ''(You Drive Me) Crazy'' were also substantial transatlantic hits. ''Born To Make You Happy'' topped the UK charts in January 2000.

The demand for new Spears material was satisfied when her sophomore set, Oops! ... I Did It Again, was released in May.

The album contained the expected quota of well-produced, expertly crafted pop songs alongside a risible cover version of (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction.

Do you like her?

Catherine Zeta Jones Biography

Catherine began acting at age 11, playing in a production of Annie and at 13 she starred in a West End production of the musical Bugsy Malone.

When Catherine was 16 she took over the lead in David Merrick's 42nd Street.

Her first regular TV role came in the nostalgic British television series The Darling Buds of May.

While the U.S. audience was unaware of her work, Catherine was rapidly becoming a star in the UK. In fact, with the popularity of The Darling, Catherine became a mega-star in the UK.

Coupled with her role in the four-hour television docu-drama Titanic, Catherine got some attention in the United States. Most importantly, she was noticed by Steven Spielberg, who recommended Catherine for the female lead The Mask of Zorro.

She followed up this strong Hollywood debut (which this is now considered despite her appearance in 1986's The Phantom) with the equally successful Entrapment with Sean Connery.

Now it seems like everyone knows who Catherine Zeta-Jones is, and will for a good long while if her box-office is any indicator.

The Bellucci's are pretty hot,no?

Monica Bellucci

Monica Bellucci was born on September 30th, 1968, in the village of Citta di Castello, in Umbria, Italy.

Initially pursuing a career as a lawyer, Monica decided to start modeling in order to help pay for her tuition while at the University of Perugia.

But of course, the glamorous life of a model -- which includes travel and a sweet income -- tempted Monica away from her law studies.

But it was her role in the 1996 film, L'Appartement, that earned Monica her acting accolades.

Her role as Lisa earned her a Cesar nomination (French equivalent of the Oscar) in the Most Promising Young Actress category, and ensured that audiences and film critics would take notice of this up-and-coming starlet.

The movie also co-starred her husband, Vincent Cassel, whom she later married in 1999.

Although the model-turned-actress has reached incredible heights in both streams of her career, she still dreams of working with the legendary Robert De Niro.

Monica and her husband will soon be parents, as they are expecting their first child in the fall of 2004.

Halle Berry Hot Picture

Halle Berry

Halle Maria Berry was born on the 14th of August, 1968 (though some insist it was 1966), in Cleveland, Ohio.

She was named after the town's Halle Building, which originally housed the Halle Brothers department store but is now an office block (it's also used in the Drew Carey Show).

Her father, Jerome, an African American and a hospital attendant by trade, left when she was just four, so she and her elder sister Heidi were raised by their Caucasian, Liverpool-born mother, Judith, herself a nurse in a psychiatric ward.

Jerome would return after four years but the violence he directed towards Judith and Heidi meant that he did not stay for long.

Throughout her adult life, Halle Would have no contact with him at all, still being estranged when Jerome died in 2003.

Halle's first few years were spent in a black neighbourhood of Cleveland.

Here her fair complexion made her stand out, but not as much as she did when her mother moved them out of the inner-city to a mainly white suburb.

Now, a little older and in this conservative milieu, her "difference" was not so readily tolerated. "I'm black," she said later.

"I realised very early in my life that I wasn't going to be this mulatto stuck in the middle, not knowing if I'm black or white".

Jessica Biel Photo

Jessica Biel Biography

Born March 3, 1982, in Ely, Minnesota, Jessica is a controversial sexy model and inspiring actress. Raised in Boulder, Colorado, Jessica started doing plays at the age of nine with roles in "The Sound of Music", "Annie", "Beauty and the Beast", and "Anything Goes".

In 1994, while attending Diane Hardin's Young Actor's Space in Los Angeles, Jessica was discovered by her current manager, Jeff Morrone, from Innovative Artists. Jessica's on-screen career began in 1996, where she played Mary Camden, the oldest daughter of a minister couple in the squeaky clean TV hit "7th Heaven".

She also branched out to the big screen with parts in "Ulee's Gold" in '97 and "I'll Be Home For Christmas" in 1998, where she played opposite Home Improvement's Jonathan Taylor Thomas.

Under the watchful eye of her father, she was featured in several modeling covers including Sassy Magazine in '96, Teen and Moxie Girl in 1998, and the huge honor from People Magazine in '99 when they named her one of the worlds 50 most beautiful people. Jessica has the charisma and sex appeal needed to be a movie starlet or a pin-up girl.

Her breakthrough came when she was cast in Aaron Spelling's WB production, "7th Heaven" (1996) as Mary Camden. Although she gained considerable attention for her work on the show, she became increasingly frustrated with her role, blaming her saintly image for the loss of a leading role in American Beauty (1999) to Thora Birch.

Feeling her character in the series was limiting her film career, despite a role in the acclaimed drama Ulee's Gold (1997), Biel attempted to get out of her contract. When the producers refused, Biel turned to Gear Magazine where she posed nude; the controversial cover and photo spread resulted in her leaving the television series by mutual consent.

Unfortunately, Biel's film career did not take off as quickly, only as she had hoped and she frequently appears as a guest on "7th Heaven" (1996).

Victoria Beckham Bio

Victoria Caroline Beckham (born Victoria Caroline Adams on 17 April 1974) is an English popular music singer, who first came to prominence as a member of girl band the Spice Girls, as Posh Spice, a nickname given to her by the BBC's Top of the Pops magazine. She is married to soccer icon David Beckham.

Victoria Beckham was born and brought up in affluent Goffs Oak, Hertfordshire to Anthony William (Tony) Adams, an electronics engineer, and Jacqueline Doreen (Jackie) Cannon.

She has a younger sister Louise and a younger brother Christian. Her father used to drive her to school in a Rolls-Royce and their house boasted a pool. Prior to joining the Spice Girls, Victoria had a number of odd modeling and dancing jobs (she is a trained dancer).

Right before joining the Spice Girls she had joined a band where she would be the lead singer; however she left them after falling in love with the Spice Girl project. Even though she sang off key in the audition (she said the song was in the wrong key for her but 'she can really sing') she was chosen anyway.

Victoria Adams married the ex-Manchester United and present England and Real Madrid footballer David Beckham, on July 4, 1999, with whom she has three sons: Brooklyn, born March 4, 1999, Romeo, born September 1, 2002, and Cruz, born February 20, 2005.

Following the birth of her first child, Victoria's weight loss became a topic of much discussion in the British tabloid press. She agreed to appear in adverts for a potato crisp brand but there were claims that she would not actually eat the crisps.

She has claimed to this day that she never had an eating disorder though she says former band member Geri Halliwell did get her dangerously addicted to dieting. She likes to say her dramatic weight loss was due to polycystic cyst ovaries condition but her plummeting weight over the years makes this hard for most people to believe (especially compared to pre Spice photos and videos.)

Despite being one of the most famous celebrities in Britain, and having all her music reach the top ten (the only solo Spice to do so), Victoria Beckham's career as a solo artist is largely considered to have been a commercial failure.

The only Spice Girl not to have had a UK number one single as a solo artist (despite "Out Of Your Mind" was the solo-Spice single with biggest sales in its first week, selling 180,584 copies), she fought unsuccessful media-driven "chart battles" for the number 1 position with Spiller in 2000 (whose single featured the vocals of Beckham's contemporary and rival Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who caused Beckham to be the only solo spice girl to not have a #1 single) and Kylie Minogue in 2001. Her debut album reached number 10 in the UK album chart.

A first single called "Let Your Head Go/ This Groove" (a double A-side) was released in late December 2003 where it hit number 3. This single was a compromise with her manager Simon Fuller, one side being a pop/dance song and the other side a song displaying strong R&B influences which was inspired by her new mentor Damon Dash.

A release for America was planned for March 2004; as well as a second single but a series of unfortante events seen to it neither happened. Apparently Damon Dash (by his own admittance) had a falling out with Simon Fuller over how to manage and produce Victoria's career and music.

With him off the project Victoria apparently decided to shelve the idea rather then trudge ahead. She decided to work on a range of original fashions for Rock and Republic instead.

A promo CD was sent to the media which featured the singles and a snippet of a cover of the Beatles 'Come Together' though the full song has never leaked.

In 2004, her happy marriage image suffered when a string of women lined up to the tabloids claiming to having had affairs with David, including Rebecca Loos. All were dismissed as "ludicrous", "absurd" and "unsubstantiated" by David Beckham and the Beckhams showed a publicly united front against the allegations. However, Loos maintained that she had not fabricated the allegations, and since the Beckhams took no legal action to disprove them, they have continued to mar the image of the Beckhams as the UK's "golden couple". The British press and public, however, eventually lost interest in the story, and the Beckhams have appeared to continue life as normal.

In 2003, Victoria denied rumors of breast enhancement on British TV insisting, "I'm completely natural, except for my fingernails and I have a bit of help with my hair and a bit of San Tropez going on." A year later she told British chat show host Michael Parkinson, "I haven't had a boob job."

This was widely believed to be proven as a lie in 2005 when a court document relating to a libel case she and her husband filed revealed she did have her breasts enhanced. The file, obtained by Britain's The People newspaper, says "That the Second Claimant (Victoria Beckham) had in fact undergone breast enhancement surgery and had lied about it on the 'Tabloid Tales' television program." However most people have failed to realize that is no fact; just what the tabloid is claiming is true. So far there is no proof she has had breast enhancement.

Beckham has had a well-publicized feud with supermodel Naomi Campbell, which began when she publicly branded Campbell as "a massive cow" and a "bitch" in 2000. Campbell later remarked that she could not understand how the former Spice Girl ever got the nickname "Posh". However, any bad blood (tabloid-induced or otherwise) between them seems to have subsided in the past few years, the girls have even appeared to be friends. In fact Naomi was the one who introduced Victoria to Damon Dash.

In 2004 Victoria came out with a mainly jeans fashion line for Rock and Republic called 'VB Rocks'. The jeans were high end (retailing for roughly $300 msrp in the U.S.) and supposed to 'lift your bum' in the design. The line was so successful Victoria has made further lines including a range of Children's and men's wear for the Spring/Fall of 2006. She also has worked on a range of women's clothes including shirts and skirts. The distinctive feature on the clothing is Victoria's logo a crown with the letters VB.

There was also a period in 2005 when it was reported that Victoria Beckham might be sued by HM Queen Elizabeth II for use of what appeared to be The Queens crown as Victoria Beckham's clothes line symbol.

Beckham also revels in her passion for Gucci and Prada and her fondness for high-heels. She is rarely seen smiling in public, for she reportedly hates the way she looks when she smiles. Many people take this to mean she is unhappy though most fans believe its just 'her image'.

In 2006 Victoria had another career milestone when she walked the catwalk for dear friend and fashion designer Roberto Cavalli. Rumour had it she was planning to try to start a career as a model though Victoria herself has said this is absurd.

Further plans for 2006 include a line of sunglasses, a perfume (one for her and a cologne for David), and furthering her fashion range.

On February 26, 2006, Beckham made an official statement regarding the future of her music career in an interview with the Sunday Mirror:

"I'm never going to sing again, unless it was a chance to do something with The Spice Girls. I don't really miss the shows we did together. I miss the girls more. I see Geri a lot - I love her, she's amazing. I speak to the others from time to time. I love them too and miss them."
